Classroom Procedures:
1. General classroom behaviors – Bring appropriate materials to class each day. This would include your notebook, folder, pen/pencil, paper, and highlight markers. Sit in your assigned seat and respect the rights of others. Please talk at proper times and not when the teacher is talking. Raise your hand if you have a question. All students will be treated as adults and with respect. Cell phone use is allowed at the teacher's discretion.
2. No food or drink is allowed on the desk if computers are being used.
3. Transitions – Students who have passes to leave class can show the teacher prior to the start of the class and then when the time calls for the student to leave, he/she can do so quietly so the learning process can continue. Returning to class from an activity will required you to turn in a pass and proceed directly to your seat.
4. Interruptions – Your safety is a priority. When a fire drill or disaster drill is in place, exit out the door (if called for) and proceed down the stairs and directly out of the building. Stay with the teacher at all times. This is to insure that you can be counted as being safe.
5. Use of materials and equipment – Students are permitted to sharpen pencils, throw paper into the trashcan, and get dictionaries and books whenever needed. Please do so in a way that allows for instruction to continue.
